composers of the classical period
What composer of the Classical period reached its most significant public success with Opera Buffs?

I am writing an essay and I'm stuck on this part. Please help and not be a fool. I never use this thing for homework help, but right now I 'm stuck … even just a site with information would be of great help! Thank you: o)

The composer of opera's most successful period was Domenico Cimarosa (1749-1801). He composed no fewer than 65 operas, many of whom enter the opera buffa "category. Cimarosa has been more successful than either Mozart or Salieri in his time. Rossini, although he stopped writing seriously in 1829 (retirement at age venerable 37 years, two years after Beethoven's death!), A was right on the edge of the romantic and classical periods (being a contemporary of Schubert and Weber) and so I do not think that could legitimately be considered a "classical composer. The answer to your question may be after the magnificent trio of "opera buffa by Mozart (Le Nozze di Figaro (1786), Don Giovanni (1787) and Così fan tutte (1790)). These are probably the most Buffe opere "ever written, but they were not as popular in their time as the operas of Cimarosa.
