The Erard grand piano comes to you in its original tuning at 435Hz (presets at 440Hz tuning included, too).To deliver the ultimate grand piano experience in your studio, the producers captured the Erard pianoforte's sound with 32 velocity layers of each note for great dynamics, feel and pure sound. Far beyond typical piano sampling—which mostly offer only 4-5 velocity layers—this digital sample collection addresses a common problem often associated with digital sample pianos: how to offer enough layers to sound like the original instrument. The producers recorded the release sounds of each key in 8 variations to complete the experience of this wonderful grand piano. To do the Erard pianoforte justice, the engineers employed vintage Neumann TLM-170 microphones in conjunction with Crane Song Flamingo preamps and Universal Audio 2192 digital converters.
