Steinway pianos are made, in fact, by Steinway themselves?
Recently, I went to a music store looking to buy a piano. I like good deals and when I saw a bit scratched up marked down almost 50%, I took my chance and bought. Seller told me that the brand of piano that I bought the Pearl River, in partnership with Steinway & Sons. Since labor is cheap China (Pearl River pianos are manufactured there), buying pianos Steinway Pearl River, and then sells + $ 5,000 or more tacked on to the original value. When Pearl River sells pianos, the price is much lower, but the quality and craftsmanship of the piano is the same. So my question: Is it true? Have my Steinway-owner friends have bombed more money than necessary?
Konrad G answered this question better than you may first realize. Steinway is a great piano manufacturer. They do not make a piano that does not say "Steinway & Sons" on this issue. However, having said that, I two Hamburg D (Grand Concert) piano and both hit the socks off anything that any New York piano can do. It's really a voyage of learning what makes a piano and listen more if you really hear (and feel) what makes a great instrument. Some of the best investments I ever made have been in these pianos. The harmonic and real sounds of live piano and a great interpreter can not be replaced by samples so effective … invest in learning what makes a great instrument (And buy one) dividends for many years (and likely to produce a very welcome back, too.) If you invest in an instrument rating under the experience is a bit like buying a bagel at Denny's – Once you get, you not sure what to do with it and nobody else wants. One of the most incredible experiences I had in my life was Research and find my instruments. Who does not mean it was easy – but the experience taught me a lot and I am proud (personally) to have had every day that I practice or a folder.
